This One-of-a-Kind Specialized Road Bike Is What the Pros Ride. Now It Can Be Yours.

What’s better than a limited-edition bike? How about a one-of-a-kind?

A unique example of the Specialized’s boundary-pushing S-Works Tarmac SL8 road bike is currently on offer at The Vault by Robb Report. The two-wheeler comes adorned with 2023 Tour de France Femmes champion Demi Vollering’s signature and includes a matching SD Worx-Protime race kit.

The S-Works Tarmac SL8 has been the talk of the cycling world since it was unveiled last year in the lead-up to Specialized’s 50th anniversary. It follows the California company’s Beyond Gender philosophy and was designed, in the brand’s words, to be the “one bike to rule them all.” A road bike must be light, responsive, comfortable, and deliver speed on flat stretches and hills. The S-Works Tarmac SL8 checks each of those boxes with ease.

The two-wheeler has so far turned out to be everything the brand promised—and then some.  Last November, Germany’s Tour magazine named it the “Best Road Bike in the World.” It was also ridden to Olympic gold by Remco Evenepoel in the men’s Road Race and by Lotte Kopecky at the 2024 UCI World Championships.

The unique S-Works Tarmac SL8 up for sale on The Vault comes autographed by Vollering, who has been one of the dominant forces in women’s cycling since going pro in 2019 and currently races for SD Worx-Protime. It is a pro-grade bike built by Specialized Racing that varies from the commercially available version. Some of its unique features include SD Worx–Protime’s exclusive swirling metallic “Dream State” paint, matching Roval Rapide CLX II Team Wheelset, and “Pro only” SRAM Red AXS components. The last feature is the lightest electronic groupset ever and isn’t available commercially.

Naturally, the buyer will get to choose their size, helping ensure the S-Works Tarmac SL8 is the right fit. It will feature a marker identifying the two-wheeler as “no.1 of 1.” Specialize will also add the owner’s name to the bike, just as it does for professional riders. The cherry on top is a matching SD Worx–Protime race kit, which includes a jersey and shorts, and also comes with Vollering’s autograph.

The one-of-kind, Vollering-signed S-Works Tarmac SL8 road bike and SD Worx–Protime race kit set are available now through the Vault. The package costs $50,000 and includes a donation to Outride, a non-profit group that provides research, programs, and funding to help everyone experience the joys and benefits of cycling.
