Dearest readers, pack your bags and prepare to embark on a new Bridgerton-themed getaway.
Inspired by Shonda Rhimes’s smash Netflix sensation, which returns next month, the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath, England, has just unveiled a new vacation package ahead of the British period drama’s season three premiere. The experience, dubbed Bath on Screen, includes a private guided tour of famous filming locations across the city, plus a two-night stay at the palatial property.
The leisurely, two-hour walking tour will be led by local expert and Blue Badge Tour Guide, Fred Mawer. During the excursion, Mawer will take guests to cinematic, Regency-era locales featured in seasons one and two, plus historical places that have appeared in the prequel spin-off series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Some of the stops along the way include a visit to Lady Danbury’s house, the Featheringtons’ London townhouse, and Modiste—the boutique owned by Madame Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale). Mawer will also share some exclusive behind-the-scenes anecdotes and who knows, maybe he’ll even clue you in on the hot gossip like Lady Whistledown. Back at the hotel, guests will enjoy a full English breakfast every morning, unlimited spa access, and on one afternoon, a three-course lunch at Montagu’s Mews.
In recent years, the concept of “set-jetting” has taken off (literally) and according to Expedia’s 2023 travel trend report, more than half (66 percent) of global travelers said they have considered booking a trip to a specific destination after it was showcased in a TV show or movie. In fact, 39 percent actually took action and flew to far-flung cities and hotels from their favorite binge-watches like The White Lotus, Emily in Paris, and, of course, Bridgerton.
The Royal Crescent itself has had multiple cameos on the show, with cast and film crews spotted shooting the new installment on the lawns last year. The Bath on Screen experience is available Sunday to Thursday from now until September 30, 2024, and two weeks advance booking is required. Prices start from £934 (or about $1,160) for two nights in a classic double room. In the meantime, season three of Bridgerton will hit the streamer in two parts with four-episode drops on May 16 and again on June 13. Happy binging.
