Pharrell Teamed up With Tiffany & Co. on a New Jewelry Collection

Pharrell Williams said in 2022 that his diamond-encrusted Tiffany & Co. glasses were the “first of many things” he was planning to do with the storied American jeweler. He wasn’t lying.

The multi-hyphenate, who was named men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton in early 2023, has just launched a new jewelry collection with Tiffany. Named Tiffany Titan, the new line was inspired by the trident Poseidon carried in Greek mythology. “I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection ‘Titan’ draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis—‘Atlantis’ which is also the name of the community I grew up in Virginia Beach,” Williams said in a statement.

Echoing the trident’s distinctive silhouette, the 19 bold designs incorporate both sharp, spear-like spikes and soft curves to create a striking juxtaposition and slightly punky aesthetic. The necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings are offered in 18-karat yellow gold or titanium, with all metal and diamond iterations available. “The detail in all of the jewelry pieces is very intentional, the use of black titanium . . . it’s a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness,” Williams added.

The punk spirit was also carried across to construction, with each piece challenging conventional design and production methods. Breaking with the traditional diamond settings, the pavé pieces feature reverse-set diamonds that expose the stone’s pavilion (or bottom section) to maximize brilliance. The almost matte finish of the titanium allows the ice to shine even brighter.

Showcasing Tiffany’s technical precision, the pieces are intended to move effortlessly with the wearer. Who will that wearer be? The house says the collection should appeal to individuals with a unique mindset and powerful force that confronts the ordinary. That sounds like it could be a description of Pharrell. A true renaissance man, the 51-year-old has enjoyed inordinate success in the music industry with countless hits and no less than 13 Grammys. He has also become a major player in the fashion biz. He launched the streetwear label Billionaire Boys Club with Nigo in 2008, before collaborating with the likes of Moncler, Adidas, and Uniqlo. He has also launched the lifestyle brand Humanrace and the auction platform Joopiter.

In addition, Pharrell designed jewelry collections for Louis Vuitton and Chanel in 2008 and 2018, respectively. It is not exactly surprising, then, that he has teamed up with Tiffany for a new line of bling, especially since both the jeweler and his current employer (Louis Vuitton) are owned by Bernard Arnault’s luxury behemoth LVMH. (Arnault’s son, Alexandre, also happens to be an executive VP at Tiffany.) Just as Poseidon is the king of the seas, Pharrell is considered a king of at least two industries.

The Titan collection is now available exclusively on Tiffany’s U.S. website and at the Landmark on New York’s Fifth Avenue. It will roll out globally in June. Pieces range from $3,500 to $53,000.
