Paravel Launches a Limited-edition Fine Wine Suitcase

It’s officially the holiday season with thoughts turning to impending family gatherings and the stress of how to get there. Travel is, of course, the bit everybody hates about the holidays: the traffic, the surge pricing, the lost luggage, and the broken bottles. Thankfully, Paravel and Silver Oak Cellars are here to solve one of those problems with a timely collab that brings the best of luxury luggage and fine wine together.

Paravel, the leading sustainable luxury luggage line, has revealed a limited-edition series in conjunction with an equally responsible and reputable California wine producer. A trio of suitcases, specifically available in a burgundy colorway, have been designed to safely house bottles of Silver Oak’s prized cabernet sauvignon wines in fine style.

Starting with the two-bottle Aviator Plus and culminating with an impressive six-bottle Trunk, the collection comes complete with bottles of Silver Oak’s coveted Napa Valley and Alexander Valley cabernet sauvignon wines.

The Napa Valley 2019 is a 96-point (Decanter) classic, containing all the hallmarks of a high-quality, American oak-aged California wine – bold, dry and sweet. The Alexander Valley 2020 follows the same lines, pairing perfectly with the hearty meals that accompany the holiday season.

With a custom liner designed to hold Silver Oak’s distinctive bottles, the Paravel suitcase features reinforced metal corners and a built-in lock to keep the bottles safe throughout transit. The luggage also comes with an exclusive vegan leather luggage tag. Once you’ve enjoyed the wine, you can remove the inserts to turn the suitcase back into everyday luggage.

The collab has clearly struck a chord. The first batch of this limited edition has almost sold out, with only the three-bottle Aviator Grand still in stock at the time of writing.

And if it’s possible that if you love Silver Oak, you will also love Paravel. Both companies are leaders in their industry with regard to sustainability. Silver Oak’s wineries have earned LEED Platinum certification (the first production wineries to achieve it). The Alexander Valley winery is a certified Living Building, the most rigorous green building standard globally.

Similarly, Paravel has been a certified climate-neutral company since 2019. All of the materials used to make Paravel suitcases come from recyclable materials, including polycarbonate for the exterior and plastic bottles for the lining.

David R. Duncan, proprietor and CEO of Silver Oak, said: “At Silver Oak, every bottle reflects tradition and quality. This collaboration adds a new dimension, allowing our wines to travel with our fans in a way that celebrates both the joy of coming together and the responsibility we have to protect the environment.”

Andy Krantz, CEO and co-founder of Paravel commented: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Silver Oak this holiday season, a winery that shares our deep commitments to environmental responsibility and uncompromising product standards. Together, Paravel and Silver Oak have created gifts of exceptional quality to foster experiences and memories that will endure long past the holiday season.”
