Boodles Fifth Avenue Collection Celebrates the Ashoka Diamond – Elite Traveler

Not one to allow a milestone to go uncelebrated, Boodles has dedicated its latest collection, Fifth Avenue, to its 25-year relationship with its Ashoka diamond. Renowned and revered for its incomparable sparkle – thanks to its 62 facets, more than the 58 facets of an emerald cut – the Ashoka diamond’s history dates back to 3,000 BCE, with its name coming from an Indian emperor.

In this century, the Ashoka diamond was introduced by the Goldberg family and continues to be born, bred and polished in New York – yet Boodles remains the only European jeweler to use the cherished diamonds. Taking inspiration from the birthplace of the Ashoka diamond cut, the Fifth Avenue collection is modeled on New York’s Art Deco architecture.

The collection is a slight departure from the jeweler’s more traditional look, which often takes a more organic and feminine style. Instead, Boodles’ director of design Rebecca Hawkins describes how the collection takes inspiration from some of New York’s most iconic buildings, with echoes of the Empire State Building seen across the Fifth Avenue collection’s structural, almost architectural design.

That’s not to say that the Fifth Avenue collection is without Boodles’ signature touches. While the Ashoka diamonds remain at the heart of the collection, and literally in the design of the pieces, the use of Boodles pink diamonds not only adds a touch of femininity but that iconically Boodles look. Set alongside the collection’s core ASHOKA and pink diamond pieces, a selection of one-off colored jewelry pieces are available, with orange and yellow diamonds, blue and pink sapphires and emeralds.

The Fifth Avenue collection doesn’t just celebrate the Ashoka diamond but also showcases Boodles’ dedication to craftsmanship and innovation. Each piece, whether it’s a pendant or a pair of earrings, is meticulously designed to highlight the diamond’s unique brilliance while incorporating bold, architectural influences. With the combination of platinum, Single Original pink gold and intricate enamel work, these pieces strike the perfect balance between modern elegance and timeless luxury.
