Aston Martin Just Revealed its Fastest Production Vehicle Ever
Across its line up of vehicles, Aston Martin carries some pretty famous names. DB, DBS and Vantage all sit atop their own pedestals within the supercar canon. In recent years each of these models has been refreshed and updated, as the British marque got its house in order, modernizing and developing a series of vehicles attuned to the 2020s. Yet that left one iconic vehicle waiting for its new form. Today, Aston Martin revealed the new Aston Martin Vanquish, the company’s flagship V12 model, completing its new roster of sports cars.
Described as the most potent flagship in Aston Martin’s 111-year history, the new Vanquish isn’t pulling any punches. It features an all-new V12 engine, an entirely bespoke chassis that’s filled to the brim with state-of-the-art dynamic technology, carbon fiber bodywork and a luxury interior that’s set to make long journeys a privilege.
All these updates have ensured the new Aston Martin Vanquish will be conquering a few records when it rolls out the factory for the first time, in what is expected to be Q4 of this year. The headline stat is that this new Vanquish will have the highest top speed of an Aston Martin series production car in history: 214 mph.
The British marque is also sticking to its heritage and keeping everything exclusive and limited. Only 1,000 models will be built each year, giving the car an ultra-luxury edge, and ensuring one on the road will be a rare sight.

The V12 engine
Almost everything about this new Aston Martin Vanquish is impressive, but it’s new powertrain takes the biscuit. As much of the supercar world pushes for smaller, lighter engines, Aston Martin, in part due to listening to its customers, has maintained a V12 engine in its flagship vehicle. Something they have continuously done for the last 25 years.
It’s not just any V12 either, it’s a brand new engine that is the most powerful ever placed inside the company’s core sports car range. Producing 824 hp and 1,000 nm of torque, this new Vanquish is a true behemoth. Looking back at historic models, the power has essentially doubled from when the V12 was first introduced back in 1998.

This raw power, combined with technical innovations such as an electronic rear limited slip differential and advancements that come in part, from Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, push the Vanquish to that top speed of 214 mph.
“It was inconceivable that a new Aston Martin flagship should be powered by anything other than a state-of-the-art V12,” said Aston Martin chief technical officer, Roberto Fedeli. “To this end, our engineering team completely reworked our existing 5.2-liter twin-turbo engine from block casting to cylinder heads. The result is a modern masterpiece. One which delivers performance characteristics unmatched by any other car in its category. As such Vanquish makes an emphatic statement, with its abundant power and prestige surpassed only by the passion and skill poured into its creation.”

The body
During the design phase, the team behind the all-new Aston Martin Vanquish had the goal of creating a flagship that could effortlessly conquer a long drive, while also providing race-ready speed and agility whenever the driver wished.
Much of this has to do with Vanquish’s all-new chassis, which like the DB12 and Vantage, is built around a bonded aluminum body structure with double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. The body is also stiffer, resulting in a more dynamic driving profile. This agility can be increased on demand by transitioning into either Sport or Sport+ mode.
Outside, the new Vanquish has adopted an entirely new look, adding a dose of the contemporary with a muscular physique, wide stance and curves. The car has serious presence, achieved due to an increased wheelbase, in addition to lengthening the front third of the car around the hood by three inches.
The result is a vehicle with amplified front engine proportions, linking to the British marque’s racing heritage. The car also features a sculpted hood, F1-inspired louvers and a panoramic glass roof to create an impressive sense of space and speed.

The interior
As this is an Aston Martin, alongside breathtaking performance, there is always a high standard of luxury. As a two-seater, everything about this vehicle’s interior has been crafted to maximize the comfort and enjoyment of both driver and passenger.
In today’s automotive landscape, technology can dominate a vehicle. The new Vanquish features two large screens, a driver display and a center display, yet there remains a wealth of physical controls. Key driving controls can all be found easily and within reach on the steering wheel.
Looking at the seats, the Vanquish comes equipped with the sports plus seat as standard, while carbon fiber performance seats are an option. The center console has been lowered, and door panels have been scalloped, creating a greater sense of space inside, particularly around the upper body.

For the leatherwork, Aston Martin has instilled the new Vanquish with detailing and craftsmanship of the highest order while the seats and rear parcel shelf are adorned in an all-new quilting pattern.
